Trainer Café is where all types of Pokemon Trainers gather and work on building a team of specially trained Pokemon together. Each month a new Pokemon will be featured allowing people of all ages and different skill levels to train Pokemon and support each other together. To take part all you need it a copy of either Pokemon Diamond or Pearl on Nintendo DS, capture the featured Pokemon of this month and continue reading!

Communicate with other Trainers taking part here in our exclusive Trainer Café forum board. To enter you will need to use the exclusive password “trainer” in order to view the board and post, You do NOT need to sign up to post replies though IP addresses can be blocked is spam occurs.

June's Focus: Roserade

This month our focus is Budew which is an easy to encounter Pokemon for all Trainers. Walk around route 204, encounter a Budew, capture it and get started with our first month of Trainer Café. Catch as many Budew as possible or simply breed one of its evolved forums because you cannot start until you find a Modest natured Budew to help it’s Special Attacks to develop.

Now comes the training, to start with simply defeat four Bidoof and you have all the EV points you need (4 HP) in order to positively strengthen your Pokemon’s HP. Now comes the hard part, you will need to fight 126 Golduck (252 Sp. Attack Points) which is all you’ll encounter in a body of water in the Resort Area. If you give your Budew Pokerus or Macho Brace then you only need to fight 63, use both together and you only need to fight 32 Golducks. Finally you will need to defeat 252 Starly, once again both Pokerus/Macho Brace divide the amount of battles in half (126) and together in quarters (63).

After all that hard work you are finally able to relax and level up your Budew normally by battling anyone you want or using Rare Candies. Promote friendship during the day in order to get your Budew to evolve into Roselia then use a Shiny Stone to get a Roserade.

Along the way while you train your Pokemon, allow it to learn Weather Ball when it becomes a Roserade, you’ll then need to obtain the following TM’s to teach it…
TM 11 Sunny Day (Route 212)
TM 22 Solar Beam (3,000 PokeDollars from Veilstone Dept. Store)
TM 36 Sludge Bomb (Galactic HQ and Battle Park for 80 Battle Points)

With its high Special Attack Solar Beam and Sludge Bomb both will be very strong and then get an extra bonus for being the same type as Roserade. Sunny Day will allow Solar Beam to be used without having to miss a turn and then it will allow Weather Ball to be used as a Fire type in order to get around those tough Steel Pokemon.

And there you have it; by the end of your training you will have a super fast and powerful Roserade. Feel free to post photos of your Roserade’s stats on our forum so we can see which member can raise the best Pokemon. If you have any questions or want to talk with others taking the challenge remember to pay our exclusive Trainer Café forum section a visit and remember the password is “trainer”.

Stay tuned to the Trainer Café because next month we will guide you through the next Pokemon to add to your trained collection.
